At the ASIEQ AGM held on 27 October 2021, a new Executive Committee was sworn in.  We are very pleased to welcome our Committee for 2021/22.

We would like to sincerely thank those members retiring from the committee – Louisa Hackenberg (QR), Helen Creagh (EML/Woolworths) and Michelle Ware (Allianz/South 32).  We really appreciated all your hard work.

ASIEQ AGM – new date

ASIEQ AGM – new date

The ASIEQ Annual General Meeting has moved from Friday 29 October which has been declared a public holiday in Brisbane.

The Annual General Meeting will now be held on Wednesday 27 October at 3pm.  It will be decided closer to the date as to whether it is in person or virtual.

Members and Associate members are invited to attend – we hope you will join us.

August Member Forum and PD Session

Sadly we are back to being online due to the current health situation.  We invite members to join us for the August Member’s forum and discussion topic “Engaging the Employer to drive Workers’ Compensation Outcomes”.

A week later, we are pleased to be hosting an online session with Recovre’s Pain Program: Resolve, by Amelio Heath. The presentation will be lead by Alice Fung, Recovre National Service Delivery Manager (Life Insurance) and Kathy Hubble, Amelio Health Chief Executive Officer.

2021 Licence Manager’s luncheon

2021 Licence Manager’s luncheon

Thanks to everyone who attended our Licence Manager’s luncheon on Thursday 11 March.  It was a fantastic opportunity to chat, catch up and hear what is happening in the industry.

We heard from

  • Gerard O’Driscoll Barrister-at-law
  • Rachel Hawkins from the Workers’ Compensation Regulatory Services
  • Sharon Stratford, Janine Reid and Laurent Cazier from WorkCover

We also discussed what is the biggest positive that has come out of the COVID situation for our Member’s and their teams.  It was generally agreed that the ability to work from home has been a great positive but many have been keen to get back to the office too.  It was commented that some management teams are looking at output of their staff rather than the amount of hours at their desk which is very refreshing.  There have been challenging times for us all but sharing some camaraderie over a meal was comforting to everyone.

ASIEQ Conference – March 2022

ASIEQ are very pleased to announce that we will be holding a Conference in Brisbane in March 2022.

The conference will discuss innovation and best practice in Self Insurance.
